On Friday 8th February I attended the award ceremony and last in the series of the touring exhibition of the 13th International Arc Salon Competition in the MEAM Museum, Barcelona, Spain. A selection of 89 Contemporary realist works selected from an original 3,750 entries  from 69 countries were on display and I was fortunate to have the "shroud of Qingdao" on the wall alongside some stunning works of art. My painting was the only watercolour to be represented in the final selection although there were a few drawing alongside what was predominantly oil paintings.



The speakers at the award ceremony consisted of Jose Manuel Infiesta (founder and director, European Museum of Modern Art), Kara Lysandra Ross(CEO/Co chair, Art Renewal Center), Ming Yu (best in show winner) and Jordi Alma Diaz (Director of the Barcelona Academy of Art. There were in total 28 artist in attendance to receive their award.

There was a very healthy crowd at the opening which provided a real buzz of enthusiasm for the work on display. From a personal point of view I was delighted to have my work included in the International ARC Salon Competition, the most prestigious competition in the Americas, and perhaps the world, for realist artist's painting, sculpting and drawing today.

The show will remain on display at the MEAM c/Barra de Ferro 5, 08003 Barcelona, Soain until March 31st 2019.

We also managed over the weekend to take in many of the sights including the Gothic Quarter, Ramblas, Barcelonetta, the Sagrada Familia and of course the NOU Camp with my youngest.
