AWARDS
Over the years I have received a number of awards, which are always gratefully received, I won the Elizabeth Greenshields Award (Canada) twice, and a small travelling scholarship from the Art College, which took me to France and Italy.
In 1995 I was awarded the Latimer award at the Royal Scottish Academy. In the same year I was elected member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours (RSW) who hold an annual exhibition in The Mound, Edinburgh.
In 1996 I was awarded the Alastair Salvesen travel award and toured China for 3 months, culminating in an exhibition in the RSA buildings, Mound, Edinburgh.
In 1999, I won an award at the RSW Exhibition - The Alexander Graham Munro Award for a large watercolour depicting a still life and stormy sky. In 2001 I was again awarded a prize at the Royal Scottish Society of painters in Watercolours for my painting 'Scotlandís Treasures'. This time I was awarded the 'Glasgow Art Club prize' which entitled me to a one-man show in the Arts club premises.
In 2002 I was awarded the 'Diana King/Scottish Gallery Prize' at the Royal Scottish Academy, in Glasgow. I was also elected to be a professional member of 'Visual Arts Scotland'.
In 2003 I received two 'Finalist' awards from International artist magazine which led to inclusion in a number of books being published by International artist in 2004. I was also awarded the 'John gray award' at the annual Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours in 2004 for the painting 'Art and Artifice'.
In 2005 I won the John Blockley Prize, at the Royal Institute of Painters in Water colours, London and in the same year was elected an associate member of the International Guild of Realism, USA.
In 2006 I was again awarded a 'Finalist' award from the International Artist Magazine.
In 2007 I was awarded 2nd Prize, Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander / Sunday Times Watercolour Competition, London
In 2009 I was Elected Associate member of the Royal Watercolour Society, London
